Those are unexpected words to hear… the pencil drawings always feel unfinished to me. But I love posting as much garbage as possible on the internet and watching it accumulate year-by-year in a clumsy way. Color is a scary thing… it can be great but you have to watch it… it can seduce you… it is a pretty beast…

I take off my pompous cartoon hat to heartily recommend the Wii game “Sin and Punishment: Star Successor” to all those who think they are above such things.
The man took me to the Chesapeake Dance Hall. It was just as I remembered it from my youth… the beams and rafters were all the same. All I could think of as I looked the dance hall up and down were those strange, haunted memories that I had shoved to the back of my brain’s barnyard for so long: Senator Goldcut and his handsome two-dollar coattails, Aunt Cornell’s rich, thick sugarsweets, the chattering of young hateful love, the smell of mincemeat and minced hossenfeffer. And, naturally, I centered on the most confused memory of all – Goldie Summerlinks, the love of my simple, brainless life. At least, I loved her as much as a man loves a blade of grass or a shimmering moon or a newborn calf. She was there, so she was to be loved. There was no choice for who was to be loved in Haybury County. I used to shoot animals down by Dowagiac Creek and think of Goldie Summerlinks. It was obvious that the gun was my genital set and the bullets were my young frothing seed, but I tried not to think about that at the time. I wasn’t sure what the animals were. As I walked around the current Chesapeake Dance Hall, all of these things flooded into me and I couldn’t take it. I ran from the building and began to vomit uncontrollably in a newly created parking lot. The pavement seemed vulgar and standard and inevitable, like dear Goldie Summerlinks from the Cassopolis Pines.

Yeah, I am heavily into Le Dernier Cri and Pascal Doury and Savage Pencil and all those zany European doodlers… but I try not to look at that stuff too much because it can really make me feel nauseous, in every possible way. I have to be in a certain mood.
