I’ve been working on a 100+-page story the last couple of weeks, of which pages 1-24 have been penciled. I’m only going to ink it once the entire thing has been penciled. None of this will be available here, since I’m embracing print. But “Horror of the Gag” strips will continue to appear, hopefully regularly, or semi-regularly. Git reddy for a new era of focus and reality…
I really recommend throwing all your conceptions of how gross/typical/cheating a long “graphic novel” can be and trying to do one, in one swoop. It’s been rewarding so far, and I’m learning a lot about characters and situations. The pacing is so luxurious and calming. I can make the ducks lick a stream for three pages and it doesn’t feel out of place.
The book may or may not be called “Debbie.” I’m not sure. There are probably one thousand things named “Debbie.”
Now I have to try to draw a canopy bed.
I hope you are all having a beautiful day…
