“Night Liars,” Page Two
The lack of activity on this blog means that I am working on “Debbie,” my first hold-in-your-hands real physical book in far too long. I’m slowly finishing it up now. It is the first part of a series of books involving the possibly generic but always troubled girlduck Debbie and her thoughts and actions, but I think it stands alone, too. It should be available for purchase next week. Preview panels are here; I stopped posting them because I got in too deep, and I want things to be fresh for me and others. The actual book will be properly scanned and cleaned, with pencil lines thoroughly erased.
In this episode, Debbie walks home from her Campbell’s soup factory job and wanders around in the wilderness until the sun comes up.
Other book projects coming soon include a collection of recent “Horror of the Gag” strips (the “Debbie’s Farm” storyline), issue one of a series of Salt Mines tales that are not unlike made-up perverse Bible stories, and more. Also in the works are secret projects published by others. Possibly a big color book.
I am trying not to let comics crush me. I love them so much that sometimes I hate them. Let’s all keep on track and not yell at the moon too much. The dissolving of quality publishers only means, more than ever, that we can’t be tricked into believing that anything we do as smalltime cartoonists isn’t valid and real.
I hope you are having a good time.

Horror of the Gag #328: “Touchable Comforts”
As we move into the sharp tree roots of December, Debbie perhaps finally confronts her fears. Who owns this mysterious voice? Discover answers in coming days.
Today I “launched” a separate home for my “Horror of the Gag” comic strip. It is almost like a real web comic. Please take a gander.
