I had another dream about a dog pound.
Katherine Poe and I are going to rent out a water tower and draw an elaborate, honest comic on the water-damaged insides.
Anonymous asked: I don't think your work comes across as 'random' at all. I like it because it is so consistent and so specific in terms of vision. There are not many other young comics artist whose personal worlds are so well-clarified and observed that I actually want to believe in them. Yours is. It is a place that I feel like I use to know even though it remains foreign, and that is a high...
Anonymous asked: Is there a specific Niles hairstyle? If so, can you illustrate it for us?
catscatssarahcats asked: I love you.
I awoke with a perfect vision of what my comics would be like as a late 80s/early 90s “cool” TV cartoon, my line slightly changed to look like that weirdly marketable pink-and-yellow Gary Panter ripoff look. Danny Elfman kept singing, DOWN IN THE SALT MINES DOWN IN THE SALT MINES, and there were lots of tubes in the opening theme.
Anonymous asked: are you from niles originally/born and raised?
sometimesisleepsometimesidont asked: do you have a picture of your workspace? it seems like youd have a lot of disney pictures and piles of drawing laying around everywhere, and that kind of turns me on.
hungeercluod asked: Your stuff looks random on the surface, but then it isn't at all when you read it. Never know where it's gonna take me until it takes me there, if that makes sense. I like it.
garenwhitmore asked: Thanks for following me! :)
theinaneasylum asked: Hello, I love your comics =)
mhmgrams asked: wow your comics are great. May i ask where you found my blog?
I desperately need a job and the only options that makes sense to me are specialist phone dominatrix and plant salesman.
brohloff asked: Yeah dude! The Chicago Imagists are amazing. It's cool to know you have some of that influence in your work, I can see it now. I got to take a class with Karl Wirsum and it was like the best thing. I'm just piggybacking on what the other dude was saying though but thanks for all the artist suggestions haha
UNHEALTHY IN BODY AND MIND
jacobvanloon asked: This has become one of my favorite pages to follow. I really have no background with comics, but I like your writing, observations and sensibility. Something about it is relatable. If wouldn't mind recommending a few of your favorite artists (comics or not), I would appreciate it.

I had no idea that “bikini house cleaners” were real things that existed.
prehuman asked: you have better hand writing than me and i'm a girl :(

Anonymous asked: is your dick circumcised or not?
Anonymous asked: post your feets
Anonymous asked: Did not mean to offend, I am genuinely curious why you are a theme wanderer. You are one of my favorite creative people working today.
Anonymous asked: Why do you change your theme once every 3 weeks?
Fifteen Cents
Dolly ordered a hamburger, and I ordered a glass of water. I put the dime and nickel on the counter and half-smiled at the hamburger lady, who was needlessly scrubbing glass and dusting crumbs out of the empty donut display cases. I asked Dolly if she had her necklace on her, the red one I got her at Woolworth’s in the summer months, and she said yes. I asked her if I could see the necklace,...
l-a-z-y-b-o-n-e-s asked: I've seen your work around tumblr and I like it very much!! Thanks for the follow!
sorrysorrytown asked: Absolutely gorgeous work!
batongmalaque asked: Hello, Dane Martin. I wanted to extend my gratitude for your following me. I find it absolutely flattering that someone so influential would find my work interesting. Even to the point that you would follow me! So, with any and everything that it means, Thank you.
I checked out the new Fantagraphics Carl Barks “Lost in the Andes” book from the library, and it is the most tear-creating, beautiful thing I have ever seen. It’s exactly right! I have been dreaming of this book since I was 4. All the decades and decades of secretly redrawn material, blatantly censored drawings, inexusably awful shiny gradient coloring, and terrible reproduction...
